By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Dec 17 - Founder of The Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar today appealed to the ULFA (Independent) to resolve its demands through a meaningful dialogue. Addressing media persons here today, the spiritual leader said peace is the only option to propel the region, which is lagging behind in development, on the path of progress. He maintained that the ongoing conflicts in the region should end at the earliest and all extremist outfits should come to the negotiating table.

The spiritual leader, while urging the anti-talks ULFA C-in-C Paresh Baruah to come forward and end the several decades-long hostilities in the State, said that Baruah should sit for talks in the interest of Assam and its people.

I am in touch with Paresh Baruah and I can say with confidence that he is keen for development of Assam, the spiritual leader said, adding that the ULFA should now shun the bullets and resolve their issues through the ballot.

It needs to be mentioned that Ravi Shankar also met UNLF leader Rajkumar Meghan at the central jail here with a message to end the conflict.
