Ravi Shankar to visit Arunachal today

ITANAGAR, Sept 7 - Spiritual leader and founder of Art of Living Foundation, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is arriving in Itanagar on Friday on a three-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh at the invitation of the State Government. Besides Itanagar, Ravi Shankar is scheduled to visit Ziro in Lower Subansiri district and Tawang bordering China.

The spiritual leader will have a meeting with Ministers, MLAs and other politicians in the morning tomorrow at the Banquet Hall here and deliver a lecture on �political ethics and challenges in the context of changing times� followed by a public programme at Indira Gandhi Park in the evening.

On Saturday, Ravi Shankar will travel to Ziro for a puja and public meeting at Siddheshwar Nath Temple.

On the last day, the ambassador of peace will be in Tawang, the home district of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, to grace the Maitree Diwas programme as the chief guest. Maitree Diwas is celebrated to promote closer ties between the Army and the civilians and is being held after a gap of seven years.

Meanwhile, the CM today inspected the arrangements being made at the Indira Gandhi Park where Ravi Shankar is slated to participate in a public programme on inter-faith and cultural programme.
