Ranking TT in city from Nov 1 to 9

GUWAHATI, Oct 28 - The Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) will organise the 3rd Nagen Hazarika, 7th RG Baruah All Assam Ranking Table Tennis Championships and the 64th Donic Sitaram Agarwala Inter District and Assam State Table Tennis Championship from November 1 to 9 at the Desbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium. This will be the eighth and ninth Ranking championship of the State in the current year besides the State championships after being held at Golaghat, Duliajan, Guwahati, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Sivasagar.

The 3rd Nagen Hazarika and 7th RG Baruah Ranking Championships will be held from November 1 to 4 while the 64th Donic Sitaram Agarwala Inter District and Assam State championships will be held from November 5 to 9. Players from all the affiliated districts of the State including Guwahati, Nagaon, Mangaldai, Tezpur, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Nazira, Namrup, Dibrugarh and Duliajan and some institutions like Oil India Ltd, NF Railway will take part in these tournaments. Around 450 paddlers will be participating in the upcoming championships.

Altogether 10 individual events will be held from cadet level to senior level for both men and women category. Award for most promising player in both the boys and girls categories will be given based on the performance in all the championships.

For smooth conduct of the championships, ATTA has nominated Rajdeep Bhuyan of Dibrugarh as Competition Manager while Gobinda Upadhaya of Guwahati, Biman Bhagaboti of Sivasagar and Chandan Goswami of Nagaon will assist as Referees. Nayan Jyoti Sarma, Treasurer, ATTA, of Jorhat and Subrajit Singha, Jt Secy, ATTA, of Golaghat will be the Observers for the Championships, stated a press release.
