SHILLONG, June 12 - Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today announced that Ranikor would be upgraded to a civil subdivision soon and that the roads in the area would be repaired.
Addressing a gathering at Ranikor along with his Cabinet colleagues, Sangma said that the area has remained neglected and is devoid of even the basic infrastructure.
Making the announcement, the Chief Minister added: �We want to bring the administration closer to the people and so we will make Ranikor a subdivision.� Sangma and his Cabinet colleagues reviewed the infrastructure in the area. Congress MLA MM Danggo had earlier moved the Chief Minister to upgrade Ranikor to a civil subdivision.
