LAKHIMPUR, Feb 7 � Congress MP Ranee Narah from Lakhimpur today extended her support to the anti-big dam agitation against the Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Project on the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, reports PTI.
Welcoming the anti-dam movement, Narah told reporters here that the people�s movement was a �reasonable one� as the dam would create problems for the people.
Claiming the agitation was taking place at the �right time�, the MP said, the government should take a pro-people decision on the big dam issue.
Describing it as a �democratic and a non-violent one�, the MP said she was with the people and would speak for them to the government.
