AGARTALA, July 20 - Ramesh Bais, a former Union minister, has been appointed as the new Governor of Tripura, replacing Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, according to official sources. Prof Solanki had taken over charge on August 25, 2018.
Born on August 2, 1947, Bais was a member of the 16th Lok Sabha. He represented the Raipur constituency of Chhattisgarh as a BJP member.
A communique released by the Rashtrapati Bhavan stated that the appointments would take effect from the dates the new Governors assume charge of their respective offices.
