GUWAHATI, Feb 15 Yoga guru Swami Ramdev has given indications about floating a political party to change the current political system through sending righteous, courageous, honest and sincere candidates to the Lok Sabha to run the country.

Addressing a press meet here, Ramdev mentioned that the members of his Bharat Swabhiman Mission would be in a position to select the right candidate for the Lok Sabha from every part of the country by the next Parliamentary elections in the country.

In the past 63 years of the post-independence period, all the major political parties have got the power and opportunity to transform the country, but ironically, only corruption, unemployment, terrorism and poverty have increased in India, he said.

Replying to the queries of mediapersons, the yoga maestro ruled out possibilities of him joining politics. Under Bharat Swabhiman, my work would be to ensure that right candidates are reaching to the nucleus of power-politics. I have no other political ambition but to ensure a bright future of the country, he said, indicating that his strategies would be clear by the next Lok Sabha polls.

The Bharat Swabhiman Mission aims at starting at least one free yoga class in each village of the country and upgrading it to 11 lakh yoga classes by 2010-11, and bring more and more members under the mission.

Holding unchecked corruption responsible for all the problems beleaguering the country, he said that the common people would have to fight against corruption to uproot it completely.

Militancy in Assam, the North-east and other parts of the country is a result of corruption in our system. Meetings and discussions would not solve the problem unless progress in the field of education, health, industry and agriculture is ensured, and every individual has a descent means to earn his livelihood and has the right to live with self respect, he mentioned.

Narrow regionalism and language-based differences are also a by-product of corruption, he said.

Every year, the Governments get Rs 25 lakh crore from several direct and indirect taxations, but the desired development is nowhere to be seen. Issues like fake currency coming from across the border and black money are weakening the roots of our economy, but the political parties and leaders are least bothered about the core issues of the country, he mentioned.

According to him, to amalgamate yoga with politics is not contradictory to each other as only a healthy, pure and honest leader can lead the country on the right path.
