Ramdev for voting out anti-people Govt

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, July 12 Yoga guru and anti-corruption crusader Baba Ramdev today said that the agitation against big dams must be able to change the course of Assams politics by voting out the anti-people Government out of power.

I wonder why such people who dare to play with the lives of the common man are voted to power. They should be shown the exit door, Ramdev said.

Ramdev, who was here in Guwahati to meet peasants leader Akhil Gogoi, further said that the anti-dam campaign along with the issues of black money and right over natural resources, would take centre stage, during the dharna programme on August 9 on the anniversary of Quit India movement at New Delhi.

Like Ganga, river Brahmaputra is the lifeline of the people of Assam and at no cost will anybody be allowed to play with the lives of the people, said Ramdev while speaking to media persons at Akhil Gogois residence this evening.

The Yoga guru further informed that the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, along with a number of organisations from across the country, will also take part in the protest programme in New Delhi.

Condemning the attack on KMSS general secretary Akhil Gogoi, Ramdev said: The attack on Akhil Gogoi is another heinous act under the Congress rule. Peoples basic rights are being violated at will and common mens interest is given the least importance.

I am surprised to see that the Government has not yet ordered any inquiry into the incident. Akhil Gogoi stands for the weaker section and we are with him. he pointed out.

Flaying the Government for its inaction, he went on to term the State as a den of black money.

Ramdev will meet several other organizations seeking their support for the protest programme.
