GUWAHATI, March 13 - To give a better exposure to their Ramayana-related works, the South East Asia Ramayana Research Institute, started by literary icon Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami, on Saturday formally inaugurated its website and the second edition of its research-based journal.

The institute, devoted to carry forward the works done by the Ramayani scholar, has also taken up a number of activities to popularise the Ramayana-related value based education among all sections of society, irrespective of class, creed, religion or age groups.

Educationist Dr Anil Kumar Goswami launched website www.ramanjali.org, while the journal Ramanjali was released by the Vice Chancellor of the Kumar Bhaskar Verma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Dr Dipak Kumar Sarma.

Upendra Nath Sarma is the editor of the journal.

Working president of the institute Sabita Sarma told The Assam Tribune that the institute is trying to convert its library into a digital one.

We need a global exposure for which we have launched our website. Moreover, Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami wished to have the university affiliation to the institute. We have initiated the process once again so that Ramayana research scholars can get their doctorate degree from this institution itself. Several other plans are on the anvil to make the Ramayana teaching more popular, particularly among children and youth, she added.

Apart from publishing four books and two journals, the institute also organizes programmes of story reading, seminars, etc, with an objective to imbibe the ethical values of Ramayana for a peaceful life and peaceful society.
