Ramakanta Dutta rural journalism award presented

DOOMDOOMA, March 16 - The 45th midterm conference of the Tinsukia District Journalists� Association (TDJA) was held at the Doomdooma Press Club (DPC) on Sunday.

An open session was held with TDJA president Dr Rishi Das in the chair. Retired Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University Dr Madan Sharma inaugurated the sixth issue of the TDJA�s annual magazine Janadhwani, edited by DPC secretary Manoj Dutta.

Binoy Bhushan Senchowa, the correspondent of vernacular daily Dainik Janambhumi from Sadiya, was conferred the Ramakanta Dutta Memorial Rural Journalism Award instituted by the TDJA from 2020. The award, which carries a citation, a memento and Rs 5,000 in cash, was presented by late Dutta�s wife Kiran Dutta, and his son and journalist Ranjit Dutta.

DPC president Arjun Baruah, Assam Union of Working Journalists organising secretary Bhaskar Sharma, former TDJA presidents Arjun Baruah, Amulya Khataniar, Himen Bhattacharyya and Anuj Kalita, TDJA vice president Parag Bhuyan, former vice president Santanu Goswami, former secretaries Jiten Sharma, Paban Dutta, Dhiren Deka, Lakhinath Burhagohain, Kamal Talukder, Saroj Gohain and Manoranjan Das, TDJA secretary Ranajyoti Neog were present.
