GUWAHATI, June 26 � The All India Mahila Sanskritic Sangathan, Guwahati District Committee and other organisations on Friday protested the rape and murder of Reshma Begum, a student of Guwahati College recently and the growing crime against women in the state and demanded stringent action against the guilty.
The organisations took out a procession here and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro).
The Sangathan, expressing concern over the escalating violence against women appealed to the society to work together for creating a secured atmosphere for women.
