DHEMAJI, Nov 20 - The United Bodo Peoples� Organization (UBPO) has intensified its movement for creation of Bodo Kochari Autonomous Council (BKAC) covering 21 districts of the State.
Hundreds of Bodo-Kochari people from Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Choraideo districts held a rally at SB Bodo High School playground on Tuesday and shouted slogans, waving poster and festoons in support of their autonomous council.
Addressing the rally, UBPO general secretary, Anil Basumatary said that despite repeated demands for creation of an autonomous council, the authorities concerned have turned a blind eye.
�If our demand is not met, we will launch a vigorous agitation,� he said.
