The public action committee of the Naga Council Dimapur will hold a public rally at Khermahal here tomorrow in protest against illegal tax collection by various agencies.

It has directed all business establishments in Dimapur town to down shutters till 12 noon on Wednesday.

In its statement, the ACAUT alleged that the issue of illegal collection persists with the patronage of theNagalandGovernment.

It said the State Governments inability to combat the issue of unabated taxation and effectively address the issue of the common people has left the public with no choice but to take to the streets and protest.

Public street protest is a sign of the Governments failure, the group said. It also urged the State Government to alleviate the woes and daily struggles of the common people.
