GUWAHATI, Jan 31 - State Agriculture Minister Rakibul Hussain today hit back at Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, saying that the National Democratic Alliance Government has deliberately complicated the welfare schemes launched during the tenure of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government much to the discomfort of the farmers.
Hussain said the Centre was misleading the people, and besides decreasing the fund allocation, it has painted a gloomy picture of the poorer section of the population.
Citing a number of instances, he said despite the submission of utilization certificates under MGNREGA, the Centre has not released the requisite fund to the State unlike other States that have received the amount.
It may be mentioned that both the Centre and State government have been engaged in a war of words regarding fund allocation. The State Government has been alleging that the Centre is slashing the funds, which in turn has allegedly hit the development works in the State.
