NEW DELHI, March 9 (IANS) - The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the second successive day today as a handful of Opposition members noisly voiced their protest against the Women's Reservation Bill.
When the House assembled in the morning, chairman Hamid Ansari read out a condolence message on the Chilean earthquake and then announced question hour.
Kamal Akhtar of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and other MPs from his party as also the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were immediately on their feet protesting against the Women's Reservation Bill.
After failing to restore order, an exasperated Ansari said: "It seems the members don't want question hour to function. The chair has no option but to adjourn the House till 12 noon."
