Rajmohan Nath Award ceremony on Oct 31

GUWAHATI, Oct 27 - Academician and engineer Prof NK Choudhury would be presented the Abhiyanta Siromoni title and Rajmohan Nath Award by the Pratnatatwik Rajmohan Nath Smriti Raksha Samiti at a function to be held on October 31 at the Assam Engineering Institute here.

The Abhiyanta Siromoni title would be conferred on Prof Choudhury, a former VC of Gauhati University, by scholar-writer Dr Hiren Gohain. The Rajmohan Nath Award would also be presented by Dr Gohain.

A souvenir will be released by former GU professor Dr Usharanjan Bhattacharjee, who will also inaugurate the academic lectures being organised in the memory of Nath, a renowned archaeologist and litterateur.

Srimanta Sankaradeva University Professor Dr Dayananda Pathak will speak on Nath�s contributions towards spread of Neo-Vaishnavism, while GU professor Dr Malini Goswami will speak on his contribution to Assamese literature.

Power engineer Baneswar Khound will speak on the contributions made by Nath in the field of engineering.

An engineer himself hailing from the Barak Valley, Nath made immense contributions to archaeology and Assamese literature, besides engineering education in the State.
