Rajesh bribed former Excise Minister, many senior officials

GUWAHATI, Sept 22 - Liquor trader Rajesh Jalan has confessed to have paid huge sums of money to many senior officials of the State excise department and a former Excise Minister to gain �undue� privileges and even modifying rules.

During questioning, Jalan admitted before the Bureau of Investigation (Economic Offences) that he used to make regular payments for securing licences and even modifying government orders.

Sources informed that investigation has unearthed a wide network of illicit liquor trade spreading over many states, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Haryana.

�BG Bonded Warehouse is not the only warehouse he owns. He is the de fecto owner of many wine shops and bonded warehouses in many places across the country,� sources said.

Sources further added that many new persons could face questioning soon.
