Rajbari trounce Rising 4-1

GUWAHATI, July 30 - Rajbari Athletic Club rallied to trounce Rising XI 4-1 in the Jibeswar Goswami Trophy GSA A Division Football League.

In a mediocre encounter at the Nehru Stadium here today, Rising went 1-0 ahead in the 39th minute through Dhaneswar Rabha.

But in the second session the Rajbari boys returned to the ground with a renewed vigor and punched four goals to earn full point convincingly. Victor hit the back of the net in the 55th minute to level the issue while substitute S Munindra fired the second salvo in the 79th minute to put his team 2-1 ahead. After that the match became quite one-sided as the Rajbari players over powered the opponent defenders and added two more. Defender Chaoba scored the third goal in the 83rd minute and finally MC Zawa completed the tally in the extended time.

Today's match: Assam Police Blues vs City Police.
