Rajani Kanta Dev Sarma�s Sahitya Surabhi released

TIHU, May 14 - Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora, eminent educationist, Editor of Gariyoshi and ex-president of Asam Sahitya Sabha formally released Sahitya Surabhi, a compilation of 48 articles, including editorials written by Rajani Kanta Dev Sarma, retired Press Manager of Sahitya Prakash of the Assam Tribune Group.

The book release function was held at Bhetapara Durga Mandir premises on May 12 under the chairmanship of Bhargab Sarma, president of Ghoramara Barsajai Sahitya Sabha.

Formally releasing the book, Dr Bora in his speech said that at present the prevalence of e-book in the society has not been able to minimise the popularity of books. Sarma�s book beautifully highlights his life experiences and observations before the readers.

The function was graced by Satish Chandra Sarma, retired Director of Primary Education, Dr Bhupen Sarma, Professor of Veterinary College at Khanapara, eminent litterateur Dhiren Sarma, Dr Sanjib Sarma, office secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha, litterateur Pabitra Kumar Sarma, Nagen Choudhury, president of Bhetapara Durga Mandir Parichalana Samiti, Bhaben Bora, president of Bhetapara Senior Citizens� Association, Rabin Boro, former president of Barsajai Sahitya Sabha and many others.

Several noted intellectuals, journalists and book lovers of the city attended the function.

Earlier, the function began with a recitation from the Gita by Yogajyotshna Sarma where Dikshita Sarma and Kulen Sarma enthralled the audience with their song. The function was anchored by Milton Boro, secretary of Ghoramara Barsajai Sahitya Sabha.
