Raj Bhawan, Science Centre to celebrate Yoga Day

GUWAHATI, June 20 - Raj Bhawan here has geared up to celebrate the fourth International Day of Yoga with a flurry of activities tomorrow in its campus.

A yoga camp was held at the Raj Bhawan earlier on June 18 where the Governor, the First Lady of the State Prem Mukhi and all other officers and employees and their families participated.

The main programme will be held tomorrow where apart from the Governor and the First Lady, film personalities Nishita Goswami and Pranjal Saikia and �Muscle Mania Mr Universe� Mahadeb Deka will participate, a statement from Raj Bhawan said. The celebrations will start at 6 am and will continue till 8 am.

Yoga session: In another event to be held at Kamakhya HS School, Minister for Education, GDD, Law & Justice Siddhartha Bhattacharya will inaugurate a photo exhibition on the themes �International Day of Yoga� and �Saaf Niyat, Sahi Vikas�.

The exhibition will include a yoga session and cultural performances. The event is being organised by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

KS Dhatwalia, Director General, NE Zone, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will also be present on the occasion.

Yoga at Regional Science Centre: The Regional Science Centre, Guwahati will also celebrate the International Day of Yoga tomorrow on its premises with various activities involving a large number of students, teachers and general public.

The programmes will include yoga demonstration under the guidance of a yoga expert, a popular lecture by Bharti Nandi, yoga specialist and executive committee member of Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, another popular lecture with demonstration of various asanas by Dr Ramala Sarma, Assistant Professor of Nowgong College and noted yoga personality, painting and poster competition on yoga, open house quiz competition on yoga and health science and film show on yoga.
