JAMUGURIHAT, March 20 - The 40th Raising Day of the 12th Assam Police Battalion, Jamugurihat stationed at Kusumtola celebrated its raising day on March 19 with a day-long programme at its headquarter.
YT Gyatso, Commandant of the battalion hoisted the flag, took the general salute and also inspected the guard of honour of the ceremonial parade presented by the personnel and recruit trainees of Meghalaya police. He said that the long and enviable reputation in maintaining law and order of the area must be kept intact by the personnel of the battalion. He also asked the personnel to discharge their duties in the ensuing parliamentary election with sincerity and impartiality. It may be noted here that at the initiative of the Commandant, a 235-feet long concrete boundary wall is going to be constructed to protect the battalion magazine. Swahid tarpan, friendly football match, barrakhana and illumination in the guest house, residential complex were the other programmes of the day.
