Rains predicted during Rongali Bihu

GUWAHATI, April 13 - Rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places of the State during the Rongali Bihu. Sources in the Borjhar-based Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) told this newspaper this evening that rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over the NE region on April 14.

On April 15, a few places of Assam and Meghalaya Meteorological Subdivision are likely to experience rainfall activities. On that day, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Lakhimpur districts are likely to receive rainfall at many places.

On April 16 and 17, rain or thundershower activities are very likely to occur at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya Meteorological Subdivision, said the RMC sources.

Between tonight and 8-30 am tomorrow, thunder squalls, with wind speed exceeding 50 km per hour, are very likely to lash isolated places over West Assam. Thunder squalls with similar wind speed are very likely to lash isolated places over the Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura Meteorological Subdivisions on April 14 and 15, the sources said.
