Railway Week awards ceremony organised

GUWAHATI, April 16 - The 64th Railway Week (Zonal Level) awards ceremony was organised here recently by the Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), a press release issued here today said.

Sanjive Roy, General Manager of NFR, gave away awards to achievers from various departments of the five divisions and headquarters of the zone.

Altogether 73 individual awards, 16 group awards and 30 efficiency shields were distributed for outstanding performance during last year.

The Rangiya Station was awarded the �Best Kept Station Shield� for the year 2018-19. The Dibrugarh Town Railway Hospital won the �Best Kept Hospital� award. The �Best Sports Shield� award was won by the Maligaon Headquarters of NFR, while Katihar and Rangiya divisions jointly won the �Efficiency Shield for Safety�.

The �Best Workshop Shield� went to the Dibrugarh workshop of NFR.

Nripendra Bhattacharyya, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NFR, received the �Railway Week Award� for �outstanding public relations, publicity activities and media relations�.

The overall �Efficiency Shield� for all-round performance during last financial year went to the Alipurduar Division of NFR.

Speaking on the occasion, Roy highlighted the important role being played by NFR for the overall economic development of the entire north-eastern region.

The Railway Week awards are given to recognise the efforts and endeavour of railway employees in discharging their duties.

The NFR Construction Organisation also celebrated the 64th Railway Week recently. NK Prasad, General Manager of NFR Construction Organisation, gave away prizes to the awardees on the occasion.

In his speech, Prasad spoke about the achievements of the NFR Construction Organisation during the last financial year and also about the various ongoing and future projects.

A total of 69 individual awards and 17 group awards were given away by Prasad.
