GUWAHATI, March 15 � Sudarshan Nayak, Commissioner of Railway Safety, NF Circle, Kolkata inspected the newly constructed broad gauge (BG) line from North Lakhimpur to Sripani under the Rangiya Division on March 12 and 13, an NF Railway press release stated.
At first he conducted a motor trolley inspection of the line from North Lakhimpur to Sripani and then a speed train trial run from Sripani to North Lakhimpur for opening of the section for passenger traffic.
The gauge conversion work from North Lakhimpur to Sripani (82 km) is a portion on the North Lakhimpur to Murkongselek (154 km) section of the Rangiya-Murkongselek (511.88 km) gauge conversion project.
The CRS, NF Circle was accompanied by SK Kulshrestha, Chief Administrative Officer (Con-2), Radhey Raman, Divisional Railway Manager, Rangiya, SC Rajak, Chief Engineer (Con-5) and other senior railway officials.
