AGARTALA, June 29 - Railway Safety Commissioner RK Sharma will visit Sabroom on July 1 to assess the safety profile of the newly-built railway track between Belonia and Sabroom, Tripura�s southern-most subdivision. Earlier, the visit was scheduled on June 29.
Sharma will be accompanied by top officials of the Eastern Railway and the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), including COO HS Yadav, disclosed top executive of the Eastern Railway, Rakesh Kumar.
The Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) visit was postponed to July 1 on account of other preoccupations of the Railway Safety Commissioner. After his ongoing inspection and submission of an official report on the safety parameters, the Union Railway Ministry will take the final call on launching the passenger train service up to Sabroom.
