IMPHAL, Feb 9 (PTI) - A Railway official who was in charge of track construction in Imphal East district was shot dead by unidentified persons, police said today.
Pintu Das (32), who hailed from Tripura, was gunned down last night at Jiribam, about 222 km from here, they said.
No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.
Monetary demand is suspected to be a reason behind Das's killing, the police said.
