Railway facilitation fortnight begins

GUWAHATI, May 26 � The Maligaon-headquartered Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) inaugurated the Railyatri Upbhokta Pakhwada (Passenger and Customer Facilitation Fortnight) today. The event from May 26 to June 9 is being undertaken as a part of a nationwide campaign to focus on better amenities and services.

NFR Additional General Manager Daya Nand Jha visited Guwahati Railway Station today as part of the programme and inspected the facilities and interacted with commuters.

Speaking to reporters, Jha said NFR has undertaken a lot of work over the past one year to develop infrastructure and improve passenger amenities and the process will continue. He said further work will be undertaken to improve facilities in both Guwahati and Kamakhya railway stations.

�The emphasis in the coming days will be on punctuality, cleanliness, catering, safety and security. Special drives will be carried out in all these areas,� Jha said.
