GUWAHATI, June 3 - A high level team from the Department of Fisheries, Government of Assam conducted a raid in the wholesale fish market of Chandrapur area near here on Friday against those violating the Fisheries Act.
The team led by the department�s Director Swapan Kumar Das seized a large stock of fish put out for sale in violation of the rules. The team also organized an awareness programme on conservation and breeding of fish and appealed to all to follow the rules.
The department has decided to intensify its inspection and raids in the coming days across the State.
