Rahul to arrive in city today

GUWAHATI, Dec 10 - All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice president Rahul Gandhi will arrive in the city tomorrow on a two-day visit.

According to Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) sources here, the AICC vice-president will interact with the representatives of self-help groups at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital auditorium around 3 pm. He will attend an extended meeting of the APCC executive committee scheduled to be held at the District Library auditorium here at 4.30 pm.

Around 6 pm, the AICC vice president will distribute prizes to the winners of the essay competitions held by the APCC in connection with the 125th birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, at the Brahmaputra State Guest House near the Raj Bhawan here.

Around 7 pm, he will interact with the opinion makers of the State at the same venue, said the APCC sources.

The next day, he will have breakfast in the company of the editors of the print and electronic media and senior journalists of national media. This will be followed by his participation in a padayatra at Barpeta around 11 am, before his departure for New Delhi, said the sources.
