Rahul to appear before city court tomorrow

GUWAHATI, Sept 27 - Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will appear before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (Metro) at 10:30 am on September 29 in connection with the Barpeta Satra criminal defamation case in which he is an accused, sources claimed.

Gandhi, who is currently in Uttar Pradesh, has no programme scheduled on September 29 in the north Indian state where he is camping in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections there.

Upon being asked, complainant Anjan Bora�s advocate Bijon Kumar Mahajan, who is also the spokesperson of the State BJP, said, �Three courses are open for Gandhi which includes appearing before the CJM which summoned him as an accused in connection with the case in question under Sections 499 and 500 of IPC.�
