Rahul mature to lead India

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 13 - Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said that Rahul Gandhis speech at the University of California, Berkeley, regarding prevalence of dynasties in all arenas in India has proved that the Congress vice president has the quality and maturity to lead India.

Addressing a press conference here today, Gogoi said that the speech has helped to dispel all wrong notions about the Gandhi scion and shown him as articulate and suave.

Gogoi added that 99 per cent of Congress party workers want Rahul Gandhi to take charge of the party and added that at the present moment there is no alternative to Rahul Gandhi in the party.

BJPs reaction to Gandhis speech shows clearly that the ruling party is nervous and that is why they have fielded a Union minister like Smriti Irani to present their case, he said.

Gogoi added that Irani and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are failed politicians who had to enter Parliament via the Rajya Sabha after losing the Lok Sabha polls.

Rahul Gandhi is one who never shies away from admitting his mistakes. Narendra Modi, on the other hand, never admits his mistakes, Gogoi said, adding that he wants Gandhi to be the Congresss Prime Ministerial candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

He also lambasted the Central Government over the slowdown in economic growth, rising unemployment and price rise, as well as growing divisiveness in society.
