SILCHAR, March 2 - Preparations are in the final stages for the much awaited visit of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to Silchar on March 4 to kick-start the party�s campaign in Barak valley and Dima Hasao district for the ensuing Assembly elections.

Elaborating on the visit of the Congress vice president, APCC spokesperson Dipon Dewanjee said Rahul Gandhi will take part in a large road march in Silchar during the day. He will also address a public rally at the DSA ground here. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is likely to accompany Rahul Gandhi, he added.

Meanwhile, Cachar SP Rajveer Singh informed that adequate arrangements have been made ahead of Gandhi�s visit. Security arrangements have been divided into eight sectors with armed forces and CRPF.

�We will be using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) gadgets for fool proof security for the first time,� he said. The SPG personnel have already arrived in Silchar, he added.
