GUWAHATI, Nov 1 - After cracking brilliant 113 against Jharkhand and unbeaten 222 against Chattishgarh, Rahul Hazarika smacked 209 against Odisha at Bolangir in the away match of the U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy today.
On the second day of the four-day match, in reply to Odisha�s 117, Assam scored 362. Rahul scored 209 off 272 balls with 26 boundaries and three sixes.
With this tremendous form Rahul certainly deserves the Ranji Trophy berth in the Assam team against Haryana which will be played in Haryana from November 7.
Apart from Rahul, Washikur Rahman scored 110 in the ongoing match against Odisha as the other batsmen failed to reach even double figure.
In the second innings the host team was 42 for the loss of two wickets at the close of the second day.
Rahul hailed: The Assam Ex Cricketers Association has congratulated Rahul Hazarika for his remarkable performance in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy where he hit two double centuries and one century in seven innings so far. In a release issued by its assistant secretary Pritom Hazarika, the former cricketers said that the Assam Cricket Association should appeal the BCCI for considering Rahul�s name in a national squad.
