Raha Youth Cong, NSUI hold blood donation camp

RAHA, Aug 28 - A blood donation camp was organised by the Youth Congress of Raha constituency in collaboration with Raha unit of NSUI at Raha Sarbajanin Durga Puja premises here on Saturday.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Tapan Sharma, president of Nagaon District Congress Committee.

Inaugurating the camp, Sharma said that blood donation is like giving someone another chance to live as there is no alternative to natural blood. He said blood donation can save many lives and observed that there is no greater charity other than saving a life. He therefore urged the people to participate in this noble cause and donate their blood.

Altogether, 100 students along with Youth Congress and NSUI volunteers and local youths donated their blood during the camp. The donated blood was stored in the blood bank of Nagaon BP Civil Hospital.

During the conclusion of the camp, Dip Das, chairman of Nagaon district Scheduled Caste Development Board, appreciated the donors for donating their blood and congratulated the organisers for successfully organising the camp.

At the end, the vote of thanks was offered by Arunagshu Bhuyan, senior NSUI leader of Nagaon.

Among others present on the occasion were Dibyajyoti Bora, general secretary of Nagaon District Congress Committee, Khirod Laskar, president, Rajib Deka, Jayanta Deka, general secretaries of Raha Block Youth Congress.
