Raha student saved by police from Blue Whale Challenge

RAHA, Sept 2 - A 13-year-old student of Raha was saved by police from the disastrous Russian-based online game Blue Whale Challenge here on Friday.

This is the first Blue Whale Challenge incident reported here, which has till date claimed many young lives in the country and abroad.

The Class-VII student of a local school here had already completed five out of 50 assigned tasks, which is an essential part of the game challenged by the administrator. The local police after receiving the information from a source about the boy�s addiction to the game immediately rushed to the victim�s house and rescued him.

� We noticed an outline of a blue whale carved on his forearm with a blade�, the police officer investigating the case told this Correspondent.

He added, �when we received information that a student of Class-VII of a local school and hailing from Mulankota area of Raha had taken up the Blue Whale Challenge, we reached the spot immediately and rescued the boy. We found the boy lying on his bed and brought him to the doctor for treatment.�

According to the student, he had been instructed to complete some assignments by the administrator of the game after each task he had completed. � When I refused to complete the task assigned to me, the administrator threatened to inform my parents about my wrong doings via the internet,� he informed.

In another Blue Whale Challenge-related incident, two boys were rescued by local people at Raha Chariali on Friday night when the duo were on their way to Guwahati from Nagaon by their bicycles. Identified as students of local schools, one among them had already completed his 27th assigned task.

�The administrator of the game assigned me the task to go for a 112-km long bicycle ride on the highway as the next task, following which I along with my friend were riding bicycles to Guwahati from Nagaon,� one among them said.
