Raha police join �Clean India� mission

RAHA, Oct 1 - Apart from carrying out their primary duty of maintaining law and order and security, the Raha Police Station personnel on Monday launched a massive cleanliness drive across Raha town. The cleanliness drive was organised in line with Prime Minister Modi�s vision of Clean India. Attending the event, additional superintendent of police, Nagaon, Rosie Kalita spoke about the importance of cleanliness to the gathering. She proposed to make such drives a routine affair to keep their surroundings clean and green.

More than 100 people, Raha Municipality Board officials including representatives of different socio-cultural organizations of the locality took part in the programme. �Swachhta Pledge� was administered to all the participants who vowed to commit themselves towards cleanliness.

The drive was also organized at Raha Community Health Centre, Gopinath Bordoloi Memorial Museum premises besides around Raha market road. The vote of thanks to all the participants was offered by Lakshman Das, officer in-charge, Raha police station.
