KOKRAJHAR, March 23 BPPF president Rabiram Narzary, two other Peoples Coordination for Democratic Rights-backed candidates, and four independents today filed nomination papers in Kokrajhar district.

Narzary has filed his nomination from the Banargaon constituency, Budhadave Mushahary from the Debargaon constituency and Hitesh Kumar Mushahary from Salakati.

The Peoples Coordination for Democratic Right (PCDR) is an umbrella body comprising 13 different parties and organisations, including BPPF.

Talking to mediapersons after filing his nomination papers before the returning officer, Narzary predicted a clean sweep by PCDR-backed candidates in the election and termed Hagrama Mohilarys allegations against PCDR as baseless and politically motivated, saying Mohilary has levelled the charges out of sheer frustration.

Narzary announced that he would file nomination from the Parbatjhora constituency as well, as he had won the seat by a huge margin against his rival BPF candidate in the last BTC election.

UG Brahma, Rajya Sabha MP, and a number of supporters accompanied Narzary during the filing of nomination.

On the other hand, the independent candidates who filed their nomination papers today included Amit Kr Brahma from the Guma BTC constituency, Manu Borgoyary and Raja Ram Basumatary from Dotma, and Hamenta Rabha from Parbatjhora.

It may be mentioned that out of the 12 BTC constituencies in Kokrajhar district, five constituencies have been placed under Kokrajhar subdivision, six under Gossaigaon subdivision and one under Parbatjhora subdivision.
