Rabha folk dance, song programme concludes

MIRZA, Feb 29 - The Cultural Centre under the state Department of Culture organised a Rabha folk dance and song programme in association with Turukpara Yubak Sangha at Boko on Monday with a day-long programme.

According to Govinda Baishya, the main objective of the programme was to popularise Rabha culture among the masses.

The participants showcased several famous Rabha folk dances which include Hanaghora, Bogejari, Forkanti, Hamjar etc., which mesmerised the audience and kept them glued to their seats.

Earlier, renowned scholar on Rabha culture Bhubin Rabha lit the ceremonial lamp while several other important personalities, including Deputy Secretary to the state Department of Culture Manas Das, Cultural Development Officer Birinchi Paran Baishya, Executive Member of Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Sumit Rabha, former MLA of Boko LAC Jyoti Prasad Das, Rabha Bogejari dance scholar and artiste Rabin Rabha, retired teacher Satyajit Rabha, Gyan Rabha etc., attended the programme.
