DIBRUGARH, June 21 � Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Divas was observed in the city here with a day-long programme where tributes were paid to the revolutionary figure, a writer and a great classical icon of Assam.
The event was organised by the Dibrugarh Sahitya Sabha at the Lakshminath Bezbaroa Bhawan in collaboration with the Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad, Brahmaputra Foundation and the Kabita Konon. Durlav Chetia, president, Dibrugarh Sahitya Sabha hoisted the flag while Ratul Buragohain, one of the office bearers of the Greater Dibrugarh Press Club paid floral tributes at the portrait of the iconic figure. S Prasad Sharma, retired principal of Nandeshwar Chakravorty High School and several other leaders also paid floral tributes to the Kalaguru.
In the open session held in the afternoon, Dr Amit Kr Barua, Joint Director Health Services, who attended the function as the chief guest, recalled the socio-cultural contributions of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha while also narrating his life from his birth.
