By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 28 - A three-day Raas Leela show is being organised by BB Creations at Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium at Kalakshetra from November 12 to 14.

On the evening of September 26, the muhurat light of the Raas Leela rehearsal was lit by former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Dr Lakshmi Nandan Bora after naam prasanga in the presence of dignitaries including Dr Jagdish Patgiri, actress Purnima Saikia, journalist Nitumoni Saikia, Dr Navanil Baruah and artistes and technical persons of Assamese and Rabha Raas Leela groups.

Dr Bora, in his inaugural speech, appreciated the efforts of BB Creations to launch the Co-Ordination Raas Leela in 2011, which he termed as a historic step.

Basanta Kumar Baruah, the producer-cum-director of Co-Ordination Raas Leela, in his vote of thanks, said he wishes to construct a cultural bridge to minimise the gap between the various communities of the State. He said he has been giving a common platform to the 26 tribes of the State to unite through the Sampurna Raas Leela Bhaona.

Baruah has been organising the Sampurna Raas Leela Bhaona in Guwahati since 2009.

In 2011, Baruah transformed the Satriya Raas Leela into Co-Ordination Raas Leela, which is played by different ethnic and cultural groups like the Bodo, Deuri, Karbi, Mising, tea tribes and Nepali artistes in their own dialects.
