JORABAT, Dec 1 - Along with the rest of the State the entire Dimoria region is also celebrating Raas festival. The festival is being celebrated at Sonapur, Tetelia, Maloybari, Khetri etc.
Big crowds are seen at the Raas venues, where idols depicting different times and situations in the life of Lord Krishna are on display. Idols with themes of modern times are also on display at some venues.
The Maloybari Raas Mahotsav has completed 38 years this year. The celebrations will continue till December 3.
This year the Khetri Raas Utsav Udjapon Samiti is celebrating its 6th Raas Mahotsav. On the occasion, the Samiti also organised a free health check-up camp with help from Borthakur Clinic. Around 500 people underwent check-up at the camp. The main attraction here is a sand idol of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
The Raas Utsav at Tetelia will end late tonight, while the festivities at Sonapur ended on November 29.
