Raas festival in city from tomorrow

GUWAHATI, Dec 13 - Under the banner of BB Creations, Sri Sri Krishnar Sampurna Raas Leela will be staged with a five-day show from December 15 to 19 at the Rudra Singha Sports complex here, a press release stated. With a view to promoting cultural integration, BB Creations will seek to enlist the participation of different ethnic groups, besides popular artistes of Assamese screen and stage.

On December 15, Khumtai Gramin Unnayan Mancha of Golaghat will present the Raas Leela to be performed by only female artistes. On December 17, Deuri Janagosthiya Raas will be presented by artistes from Narayanpur. On December 18, tea community artistes will present the show.

On December 16 and 19 Raas Leela will be presented in the Assamese language, scripted by Jiten Sarma and directed by Basanta Kumar Baruah, where Barasharani Bishaya, Chetana Das, Aaimee Barua and others will perform.

The Raas Leela is being organised in collaboration with the State Directorate of Cultural Affairs and the Department of Information and Public Relations, the release added.
