BAIHATA CHARIALI, Sept 18 � Under the aegis of the Baihata Chariali Sahitya Sabha, a quiz contest on Assamese language, literature and culture will be held on September 25 among the students of classes VIII to X under Kamrup district. This was informed by the competition management committee of the Sabha.
The competition management committee of the Sabha informed that the contest will be held at Baihata Chariali rural library at 1 pm. An admission fee of Rs 30 will be charged from the contestant group. Each group will have two members and a maximum of three contestant groups will be allowed in the contest from an institution. The last date of joining in the contest is September 24.
The first three position holders in the contest will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 1000, Rs 700 and Rs 500 respectively. The prizes of the contest will be distributed in the open meeting of the next session of the Sahitya Sabha.
Story telling contest: Under the aegis of Baihata Chariali Sahitya Sabha, the Bidyabati Devi memorial story telling contest will be held on September 25 at Baihata Chariali rural library at 10.30 am.
The contest will be held among the students of classes III to VI under Pub-Kamrup region. The contestant may tell any story and one story can be retold by more than one candidate.
A maximum of five candidates from a school can participate in the contest. The last date of joining is September 24. The best three position holders in the contest will be given awards and citations in the open meeting of the forthcoming session of the Sahitya Sabha.
The contest results will be published in newspapers. Interested candidates have been requested to confirm participation with the secretary of the Sabha or the convenor of the competition management committee of the Sabha.
