GUWAHATI, July 19 - The Queen�s Baton, which has been relayed through the Commonwealth countries on the occasion of the Commonwealth Games, will arrive here tomorrow at around 11am.
The Baton bearing team will hand it over to State Forest Minister and general secretary of the Assam Olympic Association Rockybul Hussain at the RG Baruah Sports Complex at 2 pm.
Hussain in turn will hand over the Baton to State Chief Secretary NK Das and DGP Shankar Barua. After that it will be taken to the Ulubari flyover from where it will be carried to the State Secretariat campus by a convoy of vehicles where it will be received by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
After a function at the Secretariat campus, the baton will be relayed to the Sankardev Kalakhetra by noted sportspersons of the State. After a cultural function at the Kalakhetra, the baton will be handed over to the official team by Sports Minister Bharat Chandra Narah. From Assam the Baton will be taken to Meghalaya.
