GUWAHATI, March 18 � Public Works Department (PWD), Roads, lifted the Bogaram Das Trophy emerging champions in the D�Vantage Promotions organised F-15 Cricket League.
In the summit clash at the Nehru Stadium here last evening, the PWD team earned a facile 69-run victory against International Hospital.
Opting to bat first, Debajit Das led PWD team posted a commendable total of 197 for four in the stipulated 20 overs and restricted the opponent to 128 in 16 overs. Salil Sinha of the winning team remained the top scorer with 84.
For International Hospital, Bibhash Bhagawati was the leading scorer with 26, while Debajit Das and Sushil Uzir took three and two wickets respectively.
Debajit Das, Nitin Das and Amal Deka were adjudged best bowler, best batsman and best fielder of the championship respectively.
At the closing function, State Ministers Gautam Roy, Rockybul Hussain, Assam Cricket Association secretary Bikash Baruah gave away the prizes to the teams and individuals. Industrialist Prakash More, social worker Anil Das were also present on the occasion where D�Vantage president Anupam Bora offered the vote of thanks.
