Public relations conclave organised

GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - The Department of Communication and Journalism, Gauhati University today organised a public relations conclave �Janasampark, PR: Back to the Future� in online mode.

Around 217 students and scholars from different universities and colleges from the northeast and other part of India took part in the event. It was also streamed live on the departmental Facebook page.

Dr Jayanta Kumar Sarma, public relations officer of Northeast Frontier Railway moderated the event which began with the thematic explanation of the conclave titled �Back to the Future�.

Addressing the event, Bhaskar Hazarika from the Corporate Affairs department of Hitachi India spoke on the topic �Compelling messaging ensuring interest of multiple stakeholders in a multilateral PR campaign�, Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, senior manager of Corporate Communication of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, Bongaigaon spoke on �Strategic corporate communications � Road ahead� and Himangshu Kumar Sarma, deputy general manager of Corporate Communication of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spoke on �Delhi Metro and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic�. Prateek Chatterjee, senior vice president of corporate marketing and communication NIIT Limited also addressed the conclave.

Dr Anupa Lahkar Goswami, faculty of the department welcomed the panellists and spoke about the purpose of the event. Dr Ankuran Dutta, head of the department in his speech accentuated the theme by referring to it as a public relations initiative organised by the department in its 54 years of existence.
