GUWAHATI, June 16 - The Sachetan Nagarik Mancha, a public organisation of the State, today held a public meeting here at the Vivekananda Kendra Auditorium in demand of publication of an error-free National Register of Citizens (NRC).
A host of dignitaries from different walks of life took part in the meeting, including retired Justice Biplab Kumar Sarma, senior advocate Bijan Mahajon, senior journalist Kanak Sen Deka, former IPS Pallav Bhattacharya, among others.
The Mancha has also started a mass signature campaign across the State from June 7 in support of the cause.
The organisation in a statement said they will send a letter to the President of India with 30 lakh signatures in demand of an error-free NRC.
