HALEM, Dec 25 � A public meeting was held recently at Amtalabari LP School with Suresh Chandra Borthakur in the chair which discussed the infrastructure of the newly-constituted Amtala GP level Co-operative Society under Halem revenue circle. Karneswar Lahan, secretary, Co-operative Society (ad hoc) said that as per verbal instruction of the concerned department, the Amtala GP Level Co-operative Society was formed with Kumud Sarma as its president. He further said that there will be three buildings at the initial stage and for which two bighas of land is necessary and for which the ad hoc-committee has appealed to the Amtalabari public to offer the required land at Amtalabari VGR and after a threadbare discussion the meeting decided to offer it in the greater interest of the people.
It may be pointed out that the previous Halem Mouza level MP Co-operative Society has been turned into smaller divisions to GP level co-operatives. Narayan Bora, Babuli Hazarika, Hari Bora, Hiranya Bora, Ramesh Ghosh, Chandra Bora, Mahesh Borthakur, Bharati Borthakur and others spoke in the meeting. Kumud Sarma, president of the ad hoc society offered his gratefulness for the land.
