Public awareness campaign

GUWAHATI, May 11 � The International Mission for Social Welfare and Charity (IMSWC) observed its 32nd anniversary recently, a press release stated.

A programme for the prevention and vigorous campaign to create public awareness on cross border trafficking in women and children and repatriation was held at Majuli, Teok and Numdeori in Jorhat district. Similar meetings were held at Dotoma and Bhowragur villages in Kokrajhar district where 352 villagers participated.

In the camps, the participants were explained about the legal aid, rehabilitation scheme, vocational training and others. The resource persons were Debasish Ghosh, secretary general, IMSWC, Swami Nityananda Puri Maharaj, Swami Sebananda Giri Maharaj, Deepai Sarkar, Mali Bagchi, Dr Prabir Chakraborty and others.
