GUWAHATI, May 9 - The city crime branch and the Basistha police in a joint operation on Saturday seized 7 kg of methamphetamine, a psychotropic drug which is also known as �ice� or �crystal meth�, and some tablets from a rented house at Basistha.
A source in the Basistha police said three persons, including a woman, were arrested in this regard. They have been identified as Eviam Shogli, Kibton Singh and Binita Singh.
�A team of Basistha police and crime branch, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid at the rented house at Patarkuchi in Basistha this morning. Seven packets of such drugs weighing 7 kg and ten packets containing around 1 lakh tablets were recovered from their possession. The team also seized Rs 1 lakh cash from them,� the source added.
